When Jennifer reached out to me and asked me to create a program for the memorial service for her oldest son, I was heartbroken. Jennifer didn't have many requests for the program but did send me all the info and pictures she wanted included.
I knew that it needed to be patriotic because of his military service. Going with this idea I also knew it needed to be clean and classic. I had the design down fairly quick but originally the background was white. After sitting with it for a day or so I knew it needed something else in the background. The white was just too generic for me.
I loved the idea of color, but wanted it to fit with the rest of the program. The texture and gradient of the blue just felt right the minute I added it. I loved the way it made the pictures pop, especially once I added the white outlines to each photo.
In the end, Jennifer said it was "such a beautiful tribute to him."
